HALLYU 한류 (Korean Wave)



Hallyu (한류) or Korean wave is a term given to the spread of South Korean pop culture ( K-pop ) globally in various countries around the world . Usually, Hallyu will trigger a lot of people in the country to learn the Korean language and even culture.
K-pop craze began favored in the People's Republic of China and Southeast Asia in the late 1990's. Hallyu term adopted by Chinese media ( Hanliu ) after the entry of K-pop music album in China. Korean TV drama series began playing in China and spread to other countries such as Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Japan, United States, Latin America and Middle East. At this time, Hallyu followed with concern by many Korean products, such as food, electronics, music and movies. This case, helped promote the language and culture of Korea to various countries.


korean drama is the cause of the onset of Hallyu in various countries. South Koreans love to watch dramas and movies and listening to music. Korean TV companies spend big to produce drama and some of them are scoring success, are exported abroad.
K-pop music, Korean dramas and movies, a major Hallyu product that is enjoyed not only domestically, but also in many other countries. Hallyu impact the tourism sector in Korea. Drama or the filming location of the famous Korean movie became a popular attraction for tourists to visit.
